Testimonies of the Mighty Works of God

To the readers of this blog:

We at the Church of Wells are currently burdened to show forth some of the mighty works of God in our midst. Truly, the Lord does not do things for to be hidden in a corner, but to be known and read of all men. As he said, “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid” (Mat. 5:14), and again in the words of David it is said, “My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof“ (Psa. 71:15). That being the case, we have, under God, purposed to publish abroad some of the distinguishing handiwork of our great King, Jesus Christ the Lord. We will not be able to share all his mighty works, but we intend to share as many as we are led to and granted time of God. These works will be authored by different individuals from our congregation, both great and small; persons that are a part of this “persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed” (2 Cor. 4:9) flock of poor Christians in Wells, TX – to the intent that God might be accredited and glorified for his wondrous works in our midst, which cannot be ascribed to another. You may find them on the “Testimonies” page of this website in audio, video, and above all, written format – some old, some newly posted, and many new testimonials to come, God willing. The topics vary (though many are about, we believe, sound biblical conversions) and have primarily been chosen by some of the different congregants as they have, we trust, inquired of God through prayer. We pray through these works that the righteous will be edified and pressed “toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Php. 3:14). We also pray that the unrighteous and yet unconverted “shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD” (Psa. 40:3). Moreover, we would like to offer to our dear readers, both friend and foe, an invitation to ask us for more testimonies, if need be, which we will gladly relate to you via e-mail, phone, or in person, Lord willing. I suppose that if all the works of God which have been done in the recent years were published, it would be more than this website could contain. Praise the Lord.

This prefatory post has been primarily prompted for the introduction of our desire toward increasing the “Testimonies” section of this website, and is not intended to be extensive in any other way. However, God helping, there will be another post prepared and published for that purpose in the near future. We have already begun to work on it, but are awaiting the Lord for his timing of release. In this future, more extensive post, we will be addressing some of the things that have been said against us, as the Lord leads, along with sharing other important considerations of this work in Texas, which we believe, ought to be known – considerations, which we believe to be essential before inquisitors can reasonably pass a final verdict as to our faithfulness as a Christian congregation in the sight of God. Yea, we believe they ought to be known from a majority viewpoint of those first hand witnesses which are involved in this work as opposed to a second hand source; or worse, a prejudicial and biased individual viewpoint coming from the “enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things” (Php. 3:18-19). As it is written, “Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses” (1 Tim. 5:19); and again, “At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death. The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So thou shalt put the evil away from among you” (Deu. 17:6-7). Therefore, we desire, through much prayer and supplicating before our great God, as any genuine experimental Christian would, to use wisdom, prudence, and with the help of our just God, an impartiality in treating some of the hard sayings that have been spoken against us (and we believe the God of this work seeing he is our head and cannot be disjoined from his body), in order that they might be seen in a fair light to the end that our Lord Jesus Christ might get the glory due unto his holy name. Our end being, again I say, that he, who has chosen us and not we ourselves, might have accounted to his own charge what great things he has done: lest any other touch his glory, or defame his great name in this lower world. Along with the future post, we should be releasing some of the sermons which we have heretofore preached for those that listen.

Sincerely living for the glory of Jesus Christ the King,
Ryan Ringnald, Jake Gardner, and Sean Morris (on behalf of the Church of Wells)
